What Is Crawl Space Encapsulation?

Crawl space encapsulation is the process of sealing your crawl space from the outside environment. A heavy-duty vapor barrier (typically 20-mil polyethylene) is installed across the floor and up the walls, vents are sealed, and a dehumidifier controls residual moisture.
